Supporting my ride in memory of Joan Markman
Each year the Breakthrough Bike Challenge hosts an annual bike ride. With the help of participants, donors and volunteers, this fun and inspirational ride raises funds that support cancer research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.
Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center is a world leader in cancer research, patient care, and education. Their clinical program currently sees over 90,000 outpatient visits, over 11,800 inpatient discharges, and provides over 37,000 chemotherapy treatments, and more than 66,000 radiation treatments. In addition, the Abramson Cancer Center is home to the 400+ basic, translational, and clinical scientists who work relentlessly to determine the pathogenesis of cancer.
On September 16th, as part of the Becker Family Team, I will be riding 50 miles in memory of my dear friend Joan Markman, whom we lost to cancer in January 2015. I hope you will make a donation to support the Abramson Cancer Center and its efforts to harness this devastating, pervasive disease.
