Welcome to My Personal Page
In January of 2014, Chris Hall asked me and a few other friends and squash partners to join him in a fund-raising venture we dubbed the Breakthrough Bike Challenge. I was honored and gladly accepted Chris' offer. What I didn't know was that two weeks after our initial meeting I was diagnosed with Stage 3B prostate cancer. No family history, no risk factors, no symptoms. I had robotic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) less than two months later. Two years on and my PSA scores are near zero, an indication that the cancer was fully excised. And in the summer of 2013 my friend and colleague Muscoe Martin was diagnosed with glioblastoma. He was treated at HUP but ultimately succumbed to recurrence of his brain cancer in December 2014. Needless to say, these experiences galvanized my efforts to support cancer research at Penn's Abramson Cancer Center through our annual bike ride fundraiser. Your support as a rider and/or contributor is greatly appreciated!
