Welcome to Mark Wehrle's Breakthrough Challenge Page
Hello and welcome to my fundraising home page. I have recently registered for the 2018 Breakthrough Bike Challenge again this year, which will be taking place on September 16, 2018 in Birdsboro, Berks County, PA. This challenge benefits a cause that is near and dear to my family and me, and I know my fundraising efforts will help to make a difference in the lives of many. I was able to raise over $3600 last year through the generosity of family and friends' donations.
This year, I will be helping to raise funds for further cancer research by participating in the 2018 Breakthrough Bike Challenge. I am riding 50 miles again in memory of my brother David Wehrle, who passed away earlier this year from pancreatic cancer. A former patient at Abramson Cancer Center, David's fight was not easy. He was under great care, and often had hope after meeting with doctors and his care team at Abramson about potential future trials. While he lost his battle with this horrible disease, it was his hope that his participation in cancer trials will help other patients. I have witnessed progression in the improvement of health using advanced medical treatments, but I think more needs to be done in areas of treatment research. We need funding to continue research improvements for the cure.
100% of the funds raised from the Breakthrough Bike Challenge will benefit cancer research at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center. My goal is to raise at least $2000.00 for Abramson Cancer Center, and I’m hoping you will consider supporting my fundraising efforts. If you know someone who may be interested in supporting cancer research, please feel free to pass along this link and spread the word to meet the challenge and join the solution. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for reading my story and for your generosity to help me reach my goal in loving memory of my brother David.
