Q: Will the ride still take place if it rains?

A: Yes, the ride will occur rain or shine.

 

Q: What percentage of my donation will go towards cancer research?

A: 100% of your donation will be donated to Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.

 

Q: Are children allowed to ride in trailers, attached to the back of bikes?

A: Yes, children are allowed to ride in trailers. Although they don't need to register, we would appreciate it you would e-mail us at info@breakthroughbikechallenge.org and tell us if your child will be riding in a trailer and include their name and DOB in the e-mail. For safety reasons we would like for everyone, who will be on the routes, to be accounted for.

 

Q: What is the latest date I can register to ride?

A: The Breakthrough Bike Challenge has a maximum of 500 riders.  Once this is reached, registration will close.  Not to worry, you can still volunteer as a virtual rider or a volunteer.  Register Here

 

Q: Is there a required fundraising goal that I must reach before the ride?

A: No.  We recommend that you raise a minimum of $1000, but this is not mandatory.

 

Q: I’ve never fundraised before, will someone be available to assist me with my efforts?

A: Yes! We would love to help you reach your fundraising goal. If you would like to speak with one of our fundraising mentors, please e-mail info@breakthroughbikechallenge.org or call 215-746-2211. We hope to hear from you!

 

Q: I’m not able to ride but I would like to participate, is this possible?

A: Absolutely! We are looking for both day of volunteers and virtual riders. By signing up to be either of these options, you can fundraise and make a difference! To learn more, please visit our registration page.

 

Q: Will food and beverages be provided?

A: Yes, lunch will be provided. 

 

Q: What will my registration fee go towards?

A: 100% of your registration fee will be donated to Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.

 

Q: Do I have to wear a helmet during the ride?

A: Yes, helmets are mandatory.

 

Q: Will there be an increase in registration donations?

A: Yes, the registration donation will increase.  After 500 riders sign up, registration will close.

Q: Can my team have more than 1 team captain?

A: Yes, each team can have 2 team captains. 

 

Q: Will all participants receive a t-shirt?

A: No, participants and families must raise the total fundraising amount, shown below - on top of their registration donation fee:
